Chemist

We are seeking a full time chemist to join our team Monday through Friday. The position available is for an entry level to intermediate level (0-3 years) analyst that can be productive, consistent and flexible with hours.


The analyst is responsible for preparing standards, calibration, analyses of samples, and data review.

Any analyses performed are to be done in accordance with prescribed EPA methods based on the department. Samples submitted are tested within appropriate hold times for all types of environmental matrices (drinking water, wastewater, soils and other matrices).

Qualifications:

  • A four-year college degree in chemistry or other closely related science discipline.
  • Candidate will have working laboratory experience and basic lab skill set.
  • Clear and concise communication with management staff.
  • Multi-tasking is essential in the lab environment along with attention to detail in completing all tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with a Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) database would be preferred.
  • Good mechanical & troubleshooting skills are an asset
  • Teamwork driven personality with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.

PCR Analyst (Lab Tech)

Full-time, 40 hours per week position. Must be able to work weekends and three weekdays per week, flexible schedule is a major plus.


Looking for someone that is hard-working and enjoys meeting production demands of the lab alongside a small team of fellow scientists. Must have excellent pipetting skills, the ability to work independently with a high degree of precision and accuracy once trained.

PCR/General lab experience is a major plus but is not necessary.

BS or higher in Biology/Chemistry/Other science-related field required.

Metals Chemist

We are seeking a full time, entry to intermediate level (0-3 years) Metals Chemist for Monday through Friday, swing shift (12-9 pm).

Instrumentation used includes ICP-MS, ICP-OES, CVAA, CVAF, and GFAA.
All new staff is fully trained by our in-house experts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Analyst’s primary duties are preparing standards, calibrations, analysis of samples, and data review.
  • Must learn different software types that are integral to instrument control, data flow and data storage (LIMS).
  • Must have the aptitude to learn EPA, ASTM and other analytical and sample handling protocols from various agencies.
  • Basic and advanced trouble-shooting skills will be acquired through training and experience.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year college degree in Chemistry or other science.
  • Candidate must be comfortable working in a laboratory and should have basic lab skills such as weighing, pipetting and diluting.
  • Great attitude and aptitude for learning. Teamwork driven personality with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as directed by Department lead.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Multi-tasking is essential as our lab tends to be very busy.
  • Clear and concise communication with managers and co-workers.
  • Good mechanical & troubleshooting skills and familiarity with LIMS are preferred but not required.

Aquatic Toxicologist - Entry Level

Responsibilities and Duties: The analyst is responsible for maintaining biological tests, organism husbandry, preparing standards, calibration of equipment, analyses of samples, washing glassware and general laboratory maintenance and cleaning.
Any analyses performed are to be done in accordance with prescribed EPA or ASTM methods and based on department protocols.

  • A four-year college degree in aquatic toxicology, biology, ecology or other closely related science discipline.
  • Candidate will have working laboratory experience and basic lab skill set.

Project Manager

MAI is currently seeking a full time Project Manager, for a 11am - 8pm shift, Monday through Friday, to add to our team.

Primary responsibilities include, the ability to communicate with clients regarding project/report status, review analytical data from laboratory personnel, issue analytical reports and collaborate with clients & lab staff to actuate project specific goals. This position requires a keen sense of time management, organization and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will hold a four-year college degree in chemistry or other closely related science discipline; have a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience ranging from laboratory bench work, method R&D, &/or project management skills and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, have a strong work ethic and desire to learn. Strong knowledge of EPA, Standard Methods, NIOSH methodologies; state and federal environmental regulations and laboratory protocol is desirable

Sample Preparation Technician

We are seeking a full time Sample Preparation Lab Technician to join our Extractions team Monday through Friday from 1-10pm. Weekend shift(s) in lieu weekday shifts may be available to the right candidate.

Primary duties include: the preparation and extraction of environmental samples, primarily soil and water samples, following laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The technician will learn to properly prepare reagents & standards, dispose of samples, restock inventory and receive incoming materials & supplies. All training is provided.

Qualifications:

  • No experience is necessary.
  • A high school or equivalent degree required.
  • Teamwork driven personality with a strong work ethic and desire to learn is mandatory.
