Specialists in Environmental & Industrial Chemistry

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, McCampbell Analytical tests drinking water, effluent, soils, solids, hazardous waste, air, soil vapor, industrial materials and food for a wide variety of chemical compounds including organic, inorganic and metallic contaminants.

We provide:

  • High quality data
  • Excellent pricing
  • Excellent customer service
  • Outstanding technical expertise
  • Standard five-day turn-around-time
  • Rush turn-around-time upon request
  • Open 8:00 am - 9:00 pm for sample receipt
  • 32,000 sq. ft. of laboratory space at our state of the art facility in Pittsburg, CA.
  • Free sample containers, pick up & delivery throughout the Bay & Sacramento areas
Good scientific practices determine the high quality of our analyses such as:
  • NELAP certification.
  • Calibration vs. Response curves.
  • Daily initial standards and method blanks verify the calibration curve of each instrument.
  • Analysis of quality control check standards periodically throughout each day’s sequence, assures validity of calibration over time.
  • MAI adds surrogates to every sample extracted for most analyses to evaluate extraction efficiency for each sample.
  • Quality control data such as LCS, LCSD, spike, spike duplicate, surrogate recoveries, sample duplicates, and/or serial dilution data accompany all reports.
  • MAI regularly participates in blind third party performance evaluation tests.
  • Very low error rate in all facets of our laboratory operation - high quality data, full QC reports, absence of false positives and false negatives, dual column \ dual detector \ GC-MS confirmation for most GC analytes.
In addition to high quality and cost savings, McCampbell Analytical has the following advantages:
  • Diverse testing capabilities for a variety of applications, including over 300 analytical methods covering many thousands of chemicals.
  • Over $6million of instrumentation means significant testing capacities for nearly all test methods to accommodate large sample loads & RUSH TATs, as well as facilitating on-time reporting for routine work. Instrument redundancy helps meet TAT commitments in the face of instrument breakdowns.
  • Comprehensive pesticide and organometallic analysis capabilities
  • Expertise to characterize fuels for site investigation projects
  • Unique ability to set up for new compounds or new methods at reasonable pricing due to the excellent quality of our staff & equipment
  • EDF (COELT), EDT (Write-On), EarthSoft EQuIS, GISKey, WaterTrax, LocusFocus EIM, Element, SWAMP 2.5 and customized Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) formats available, in addition to PDF, fax & paper formats
MAI’s core competency is in environmental methodologies. However, we have an extensive library of analytical methods that takes us beyond the environmental field, such as:
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • American Public Health Association - Standard Methods (APHA)
  • State Methodologies (CA, OR, HI)
  • Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC)
  • American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
  • California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA)
  • Soil Science Society of America (SSSA)
  • National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health - Manual of Analytical Methods (NIOSH)
  • Pesticides Analytical Methods (PAM)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Bacterial Analytical Manual (BAM)
  • Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD)
  • United States Geological Survey (USGS)
  • American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC)
  • Food & Drug Administration – Food Additives Analytical Manual (FDA)
  • United States Pharmacopeia (USP)
  • Consumer Protection & Safety (CPSC)
  • American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
